We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature--trees, flowers, grass--grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence...We need silence to be able to touch souls. --Mother Teresa

Let Me Explain.....

Seems as though I have some explaining to do.  I have blog block.  I can't come up with jack to write about.  I can't think of anything that I want to share with you all.  I got nothing.  Jack.  DA Nada.  Nothing.  Not a flippin' thing.

Several times I have started a post, only to realize that I was writing crappola that made little or no sense.

I would write about what I am reading IF I was actually reading something.  I didn't read the November book all the way through (Eat Pray Love) because it was a ridiculous book and I didn't even pretend to buy the book for January.  Although, I did go to book club for the wine.  The discussion was interesting and I might read the book in the summer some year far away from this one.

I would write about my sons food allergies, but really, who cares.  He's allergic and dealing with it.

I would post a Food on Friday blog, but that would mean that I actually cooked something.  And that would be a big, fat lie.  Nobody is giving me any ideas as to what they want to eat, so skip it.

I would post that I am 18 months away from having 3 kids graduate from high school and college.  But again, saying it out loud actually means that I am admitting it.  Deny.  Deny.  Deny.

I would post that in 10 days I will be 44.  Sounds old to me.  When my mom was 44, I was 24 and had an almost 1 year old.  Praise God, I am not my mom.  It seems weird to me to be 44.  Like I ought to be more of a grown up than I really am.  Like I should drive a station wagon or have a lift chair.

I would post that Netflix for the Wii is quite possibly the greatest invention since Depends.  Seriously.  For $10.36 a month, unlimited online movies and 1 DVD at a time.  It completely rocks.  Anywhere I can get internet, I can get a movie.  I can lay in bed and watch a movie on my ipod.  I am totally addicted to the TV show, Friday Night Lights.  I feel some luuuuvvvv for Tim Riggins.  Only problem I can see is that they have him wear a shirt way too often.

I would post about cleaning the office and how scary that really was to me.  I used 2 snow days to do it.  And I still didn't finish.  That's how nasty it really was in there.

I would post about painting the basement and how happy my husband was when I let our favorite 16-year-old girl choose dark brown and teal paint for the walls.  We did plan for his favorite color, cream, in the center of the wall.  Yep.  3 colors.  3 stripes.  Geez.  It's only paint.  It can be changed.

I would post that I am hosting bunco at MY house on February 16.  Yep.  Like in 17 days.  And that I have started cleaning my house so that people can actually come in without wearing a
haz mat suit, but it would be a lie.  I've thought about cleaning house, but really, I haven't done anything.

I would post the pictures from fall, winter and Christmas.  But.......

I just don't have anything to write about.  Just sayin'.

Since I am commenting 15 minutes after you posted, it appears I was stalking you, waiting for you to post something ... ANYTHING. I plead not guilty. I just happened to be hanging around Blogger at the time. I'm wondering if the lack of reading just might be connected to your new Netflix obsession. Just sayin' (to borrow a phrase from someone I know). And you have tons of time before Bunco. No need to hurry the whole cleaning thing because you'll just have to do it again. At any rate, glad to have you write about nothing (your words - not mine!)

Netflix is DA BOMB, no lie. I watched Seasons 1 & 2 of Dexter online, then had to go to Blockbuster to get Seasons 3 & 4.
Memes help me get through blogging block. At least I know on Mondays (Meet Me on Monday: http://nevergrowingold.blogspot.com/) and Wednesdays (Wed. Hodgepodge: http://joyce-fromthissideofthepond.blogspot.com) I don't have to come up with my own material!
And, hey, that was a pretty good post! :D

I think we all go through these blog posting brain dead days. I'm happy to see what you are up to. And obviously, you don't do as many stupid things as I do or you would have plenty to say. And oh...we've been really glad for that tech guy we snatched from your district. You do have readers out here--and boring is good, too. Better than tragedy or something.
