We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature--trees, flowers, grass--grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence...We need silence to be able to touch souls. --Mother Teresa

Randomness

This gal is actually the host this week!  Thanks so much for stepping in to help Lid out....

The theme is Spring . . . and any other random questions that crept in.

1.  What is your favorite sign of Spring?
I have several.  Kids at recess without coats.  People walking in the early evening.  Flowers.  Time change.  The smell of the food cooking on the grill.  Buds and then blooms on the neighbor's dogwood tree.

2.  Did you remember to spring forward on March 14?  If not, how did it impact your day?
Oh I remembered.  I had been counting down to the day.  I love to spring forward!

3.  If soil, time, talent and climate were no problem, what vegetable would you plant in a garden this year?
My husband is helping me with this one.  First, I wanted to say 'celery'.  He claims that celery isn't a vegetable.  Then, he starts shooting off his mouth.  'Beetabegas'.  Thanks, Cliff.  'Pineapple'.  'Cucumbers'.  'Tomatoes'.  I am not asking him for his assistance again.

4.  If soil, time, talent and climate were no problem, what fruit would you plant?
 Strawberries and pineapple.

5.  What is your least favorite insect?
This one is too easy.  Flies.  I hate flies.  They mulitply like, well, like flies and as soon as I get my fly swatter out, they disappear.  I hate the dang things.

6.  March 22 was World Water Day. To celebrate, here are some water questions. Do you drink bottled water? If so, what brand?
I buy bottled water for event purposes.  Events like track meets, shopping trips or long car trips.  I usually buy whatever is on sale.  Aquafina is my favorite but more often than not, I buy Best Choice.

7.  Have you ever been somewhere that it was not safe to drink the local water? If so, how did you handle that?
Um.  NO.

8.  How many glasses of water do you drink per day?
Let's just cut to the chase...I drink around a gallon of water a day.  Yeah, I know, I'm a big drinker.  While I am in confession mode, I also put away 3/4 of a pot of coffee each morning and if it's a not-so-good day, I have been known to indulge in Diet Coke(s).

9.  March 24 is the birthday of Harry Houdini.  Have you ever watched a professional magic show? Share.
Never watched a live one and unless Coach gets a wild hair and takes us to Vegas, probably I won't ever see a live magic show.

10.  Have you ever been a participant in a professional magic show (up on stage!)?
No.

11. March 24 is also the birthday of Steve McQueen and Clyde Barrow. Do you like Westerns or gangster movies?  If so, what is your favorite?
Westerns.  Broken Trail, City Slickers, The Long Riders, Urban Cowboy (no lie...it's listed under westerns!!), The Man from Snowy River, Lonesome Dove, Two Mules for Sister Sara, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Rooster Cogburn and The Sacketts.

12. (Really random)  What U.S. state that you've never visited would you like to visit someday?
Montana.  Just sayin'.

Love your signs of spring, too! As for water--went to Mexico and brushed my teeth with Diet Coke--it wasn't pretty!

The only thing about kids at recess without coats is that then you have the little kid sweat smell! :D

Your husband is a nut - I like that you included him even if it's just this once :)

Your husband's contribution cracked me up.

Another heavy drinker! How do you people manage that?! I'd be in Depends for sure!
