We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature--trees, flowers, grass--grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence...We need silence to be able to touch souls. --Mother Teresa

Bonehead Move

Really it's plural.  Bonehead Moves.

On Sunday at 1:10, as I am putting cards on the Graduation 2010 gifts, I realize that I actually had 10 invites, not 9.  Um.  Graduation is at 2.

I had options.  Of course, the laughter of my family didn't help my situation.  And this certainly wasn't life or death.  One person got a cash gift.  Thus completing bonehead move number one.

We arrive at our first event of the afternoon, only for me to realize that I actually had TWO sets of guys that will be roommates.  Thus completing bonehead move number 2.  Duh.  Oh well.  They won't need to call each other to coordinate their bathroom stuff.   Guys do that, right?

I ran into one the pairs at another function and apologized for the matching towels.  He was so excited about the number of towels he had received as gifts that he didn't care.  He doesn't have to buy any towels for college.  He has one of those round mesh thingys completely full of towels. Round mesh thingys?  A laundry basket?   So he thought it was funny that he will have matching towels with a roommate.

Another young man was standing with us, looked at me, looked at the young man and said, "Oh. Yay.  You got matching from us, too."

Well, at least I wasn't the only mom trying to be cool like that.  Just sayin'.

I love the towel idea...I have girls and the matching business about put me over the edge the first year. Daughter1's roommate had difficulty making decisions...we love her though and she is now going to medical school so apparently she can make decisions about really important stuff. Just not about which comforter to get and which desk chair to buy, and which curtains match which comforter. My husband had such a headache : )

Congrats to all the graduates!

Just imagine how rarely he will ever have to do laundry?!! He is going to love all his towels!
