We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature--trees, flowers, grass--grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence...We need silence to be able to touch souls. --Mother Teresa

The Music of My Life

About a month ago, our high school held their major concert band event.  It's kind of a big deal and this year my favorite son was chosen to be a part of the event.  Tuxedos are required and this was his first tux.  He looked so handsome that it made his big sister feel sad and old.

His sister was an usher for the event.  She has the 'look' of an usher....or not so much.

And yes, these are the shoes she wore.....

and she can walk in them without looking like Mrs. Wiggins.......remember that character from The Carol Burnett Show?  She was my favorite.

Anyway, the concert band sounded wonderful and it was a very entertaining evening.

My camera takes wonderful video in the auditorium, but crappy pictures.  Crappy might be a nice way to say what I really am thinking.

Therefore, I have lots of video and not so many pictures.  Oh I have pictures but they look like this:

Or this:

I give up.  The band sounded wonderful and that is all that matters.  Just sayin'.

I love those pink heels! BUT... I would look like Mrs. Wiggins. (LOVED THAT!!!) Your favorite son was pretty darn handsome!

It always amazes me how girls/young ladies/women can wear heels like that! They are very cute, though! My camera does the same thing: I end up taking a picture with the flash and another one without the flash to see if one will turn out. Glad the band concert went well..how handsome your son is!

I LOVE Mrs. Wiggins. My personal #1 of the many Carol Burnett skits I cannot live without. That's when TV was FUNNY.
And your kids looked great too.
:)
Thanks for the cookies. You saved 1.25 polar bears today by sending those. Ask Logan if that does not make sense to you.

Your camera does take great video!! The sound was even pretty good. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the official DVD from the Eagle guy so I can watch and enjoy the show without having to be the producer! I probably drove the guys in the sound and light booths nuts!
