We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature--trees, flowers, grass--grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence...We need silence to be able to touch souls. --Mother Teresa

Does Your House Feel.....

.....naked?  If mine could talk, it would tell me it felt well, naked.  Our Christmas decorations are down and the spaces are empty.  Except for my office--that's where all the decorations are stowed and waiting to be returned to the closet only reached by a ladder.  It is amazing to me that my house always feels naked for a few days after the trees come down.  They are, after all, only up for about 1/12th of the year.  Now if only my house was clean for 1/12th of the year....

We spent some time with good friends yesterday afternoon.  Very enjoyable conversations and excellent food.  It was a simple time and all I had to do was show up with cookies.  My lovely children reviewed the rules with us before we left--no smoking, no drinking, no drugs, no sex and have fun--oh and call us if you need us....and then checked up on us several times while we were there.  Actually drove by (getting caught) and then sent us crazy text messages.  Goons.

Have you seen the commercials for this:

How about that claim...people who eat whole grains are slimmer blahblahblah....so I did my part this morning and had several bowls with my coffee.  I wonder when I will start to feel slimmer?

We have a long awaited wedding tonight and are very excited to see these two really good grown-ups get hitched.  Thanks for including us in your celebration.  Life is all good.

I am going to get myself around and head up to the kids wrestling tourney taking place today at our high school.  I have some little guys who are wrestlers in my class and this is my only chance to see them and their moves.

So it's Saturday.  And it is absolutely freezing outside and there is an 80% chance of snow.  Hmpf.  Imagine that.  Snow.

Inside recess is looming in my future.....just sayin'.

My daughter DREADS indoor recess. Can't blame her! I DREAD cold temperatures, not for me-but for the students. :(

I know what you mean about the naked house feeling.

You're a good teacher to go to wrestling over your vacation! I'm just sayin'....!
